Class Descriptions:
YOGA I (Basics): For beginners to intermediates. Basic yoga postures are introduced and practiced along with breath-work and relaxation. The focus is on stretching deeply, releasing tensions and getting stronger. It is about learning posture alignment and breathing techniques. It's a fun class for the fit and not-so-fit.
GENTLE STRETCH: For beginners to intermediates who want a slow paced class with gentle stretches. We will practice gentle stretches in a comfortable fashion that allows the body and mind to deeply relax. This is the class you want if you need to stretch and also want deep stress relief.
YOGA I/II (Open / Mixed): Students of all levels are welcome to take this class where you will experience a combination of the Yoga I (Basics) class, learning the basic yoga poses and stretches, along with some Flow Yoga movements including Sun Salutations. A great combination class for everyone!
YOGA FOR CONDITIONING (All levels): focuses on every major area of your body with flow movements to increase your heart rate and with controlled movements to slowly bring your heart rate back down. This form of interval training will create length, strength and flexibility as well as helping your body to rid itself of toxin build-up which can reduce and maintain weight. This conditioning of your body allows your mind to become calmer and improves your ability to relax and concentrate. Some exercise experience required.
YOGA II (Flow): For intermediates to advanced students with prior yoga experience and for those who are very aware of their body and kill level. Restores energy and vitality to the body through breath-work and total body movement. Increases metabolism, firms, tones, balances and can help to maintain weight. This is a challenging class with an emphasis on developing core strength and calm mind. You will flow through the postures at a quicker pace. Students should be reasonably physically fit wit at least 6 months to one year of yoga practice.
$5 FRIDAYS "Happy Hour Yoga" (All Levels): For students of all ages and levels. In this class you will "wind-down" from the week with a fun yoga class with basic poses to revitalize and rejuvenate you. This class will be set to great music too! This class will be a separate fee of only $5 per class. Online reservations recommended!
BEACH YOGA at Beekman Beach (June-August only): Join us again this summer for a Yoga Rocks experience unlike any other. Yoga at the beach feels like a mini-vacation in this serene setting. Bring a beach towel to lay your mat on, water, sunglasses, sunscreen and a friend or two. Teens welcome too! We are pleased to be the first yoga studio in our area to bring you this amazing class year after year! Everyone looks forward to it and it is one of our most popular classes! All levels welcome.
