Pose of the Month
Child's pose (with block for support)Sanskrit Name: Balasana
Child's Pose is the best place to be when you need a rest or have a headache. This is a transitional pose that has some version that everyone can do and you'll revisit it over and over in your yoga practice. Child's Pose is kind to your soul.
1. Come down on your hands and knees and sink your sit bones into your heels.
2. Rest your chest gently on your knees. If it's more comfortable, separate your knees and let the chest drop between the legs.
3. Activate the arms by stretching them forward and lengthening the spine. This is a great back stretch.
4. Or rest the arms behind you close to the heels to release your shoulders.
